Teaching Supervisor Feedback

I was instructor of record for WGS 101 and 201 for two years. Each year, a faculty member completed a classroom observation and offered feedback.

Across Fall 2019 to Fall 2020 I helped teach courses in person, entirely online, and a mid-semester transition from in person to online with Dr. Jackie Orr. Dr. Orr nominated me for the Outstanding TA Award for my work with her for the last three semesters, teaching Introduction to Sociology for two semesters and one semester of a 400 level course: Science, Technology, and Society. Her written evaluation on my role as a TA is included below.

Dustin is a talented and skilled TA, and is clearly on their way to becoming an effective and dedicated professor.

I TAed Introduction to Sociology with Dr. Flad for two semesters. In the second semester, she invited me to give a guest lecture on one of the predetermined lecture topics. She offered to either supervise the lecture and offer feedback or to allow me to lecture without her supervision. I jumped at the chance to lecture and to be assessed as an instructor. Her written feedback on my guest lecture is attached below.

It is clear that teaching is important to Dustin and that she works hard to provide the students with every opportunity to learn. […] I have been most impressed by the effort and thought that Dustin has put into being a teaching assistant.
